Thanks to all the artists and labels who responded so quickly and generously to our request. Thanks to XLII, Broken Haze and Audace for their help. Dedicated to all the people in Japan affected by the terrible events of March 11. Here’s to a brighter future.
Laurent Fintoni
A huge thanks and massive respect to all the people/artists/labels/magazines/blogs taking part in ”Nihon Kizuna” project! Everybody responded very quickly, it’s really amazing. Special thanks to Justin Sereni (for the artwork), Broken haze, XLII and Laurent Fintoni for coordinating the all thing. I really hope this project can help.
Much love and respect !
Audace
First of all (& I think I speak for all of us), I can’t thank the universe enough for letting us get through last Friday. Was definitely one of the scariest moments in our lives & we weren’t even hurt in any way. Can’t imagine what the people in the Tohoku region must’ve experienced. Don’t want to imagine…
Seeing what some of the people up North went through, it suddenly became clear that there are some things worse than death. Some people didn’t only lose their homes, but their entire families, spouses, kids, parents, all their property, their entire town, the streets they grew up in, their neighbours, pictures, memories… everything. Every little piece washed off the face of the Earth in 3-4 minutes.
So, I’m extremely grateful to have been this fortunate.
I’m also extremely grateful to everyone who not only supported this idea, but endorsed it with open arms. The amount of good will, love and support we have received for this is hard to describe. Artists, labels and companies, big and small jumping head first and opening doors so many doors for us. It’s amazing and inspiring.
In particular extra special thanks to my bro Laurent Fintoni, this man’s must have cocaine running through his veins, the skills are ridiculous! I’m stunned. Laurent made this happen.
Also, special thanks to my bruv, label mate and long time friend Broken Haze (Keisuke Ito) for coming through for this project! You d boss man! ![]()
My boy Audace for all the support as well and hooking up this amazing artwork!
Also massive thanks to Ninja Tune, the most amazing label in the world, they really came through for this project! So humbled. Big ups Soundcloud and Bandcamp for helping with the promotions and donating the % for to this cause!
Massive respect to all and everyone artist involved in this compilation, can’t name names, cos I’d have to name everyone! Every one of these people supported this!
But most of all, thank you for all the people who purchased this! ALL of the profits go to Red Cross, this went on sale 3 hours ago, at 00:40 March 19th 2011, it’s 04:00 now and Nihon Kizuna is #1 biggest seller on Bandcamp and we’ve raised more than $2400 already!
Thank you!
XLII
